Due to the snowstorms in our area I have been thinking a bit lately about emergency heating. As our apartment has forced air heat, if the power goes out the blower on the furnace won't work. I picked up a heater buddy
and adapter for a bigger tank
last year along with a coupler for refilling small tanks from big ones
. I figure if the power goes out my family can gather in one room and insulate the window and door. Well, a thought occurred to me. If I use mylar emergency blankets
on the window it should reflect the heat in. What do you think?
